I'm looking to obtain a replacement part for a Caldwell window balance and it'd be helpful to confirm which Swisco part would be a match. It looks like this is an 11-4 balance. In case it matters, the window weights about 6.5 pounds.

Hey there, thanks for writing in, The channel balances you have are either the S380-12 with a 1" shoe or the S385-12 with a 1-3/32" shoe. The metal channel of these balances is 12", so you'll want to double check the length of your channel. To determine which series is needed for your window, look over the dimensions from the diagram below to confirm the depth of your bottom shoe. Let me know if it does not match either measurement.

You'll need to select the 1120 for a sash weighing 6.5lbs. Although, your balance is stamped with a 11-4 which would be an 1140 stamp. The 1140 stamp can support a sash weighing 11 to 12lbs, so I would recommend double checking the weight of your sash as well. If it is truly 6.5lbs, then you'll need the 1120 stamp. |
