Window Channel Ballance

A handy person from Terre Haute, IN says:
We have 34 year old aluminum clad double hung windows that are in pretty great condition, except for the failing window balances. Each balance is stamped with "B.S.I. 28xHD", is 29" long, and 5/8" wide.

I have no idea who the window manufacturer might be as I can't find any stamp on the window itself.

I may also be interested in replacing window seals.

Hello,

Your photos resemble the Series 751 channel balance. This comes preassembled as shown below, including the 15-014 bottom shoe. The top S-clip looks like the 19-030, which is sold separately but you could also just reuse your originals if they are still in good shape.

Based on your stamp of 28XHD, I would suggest the S751-29 with our 28HD stamp option. This stamp is rated to hold 22 through 28 pounds. As long as your sash falls within that range, you should be good to go. Take a look and thanks for posting!
