Window balance

A friend from Wading River, NY says:

This window balance has a small cord anchored with a screw into the jam at the top. At the bottom it has a 15-195B 1 1/4 " T-Lock Balance Shoe, Open Cam. I need your part number as a friend of mine will be ordering more Balance Shoes and top latches. One balance was completely missing! Thank You, Alan

Hey Alan. That stamp code is a little unusual for a Series 795, so to be safe I recommend measuring the metal channel length. I have a feeling it may be 19" instead of 18", but it's likely either of these. I'd remove the whole assembly to be extra-sure the shoe is our 15-195B. Assuming it's indeed this shoe, this is sold separately from the Series 795, but it's easy enough to swap this shoe with the one that comes by default with the balance (the closed cam 15-195). The video below shows how to do this. Finally, to know what stamp option to select for the new balance, I'd weigh the window sash. You can then match that weight with one of the weight ranges listed alongside each stamp option on the balance shop page.

A friend from Wading River, NY says:
We measured the channel and the steel channel itself is 19 inches long. I know about the 15-195B shoe because We already purchased some of them from Swisco and they fit perfectly as replacements.

Once we have the balance number we'll be placing an order for 1 balance (somebody apparently threw one away!) more shoes, and more latches.
Thanks for the quick response and we already have our next order ready!
