Window balancer is broken

A quick learner from Beaufort SC says:
Hi

Can you please tell me which balancer kit I should order to fix my window? I submitted the window lable and a photo of the broken balancer. I would need both sides and the jam spreader.

Thank you

Hello,

We would be happy to help but we would need to see the coil springs and pivot shoe of your balance assembly fully removed from the window to compare to our inventory.

We do offer the 75-069 jamb spreaders but we generally recommend the cutout method shown in one of the videos we've related on this page to assist you. Also, please note that the jamb spreaders are not eligible to be returned for a refund and are quite expensive, which is why we tend to only recommend these to contractors who are doing these types of repairs regularly.

Hi

I am attching a photo of the balancer for my window. Thank you and please let me know which one I should buy. Also do you sell the plastic jam spreaders?

Thanks for getting back to us. I would recommend removing your coil balance assembly to the 15-199 pivot shoe, which uses either the 1/2" thick S160-6 or the 3/8" thick S165-6 coil springs depending on the size of your originals.

As we mentioned in our last response, we do offer the 75-069 jamb spreaders but we recommend using the cutout method shown below. Take a look and see what you think.

Thank you I will remove the balancer and measure the spring size. I noticed that the balancers shown do not have a plastic piece covering the springs. Is that something I can buy?

The compatible covers can be found under the related items section of the coil spring product page, depending on the coil width that you wind up needing.
