I would like to replace parts in several windows the locks say Prism and the labels have 1258 C15 .
Is that enough information for top and bottom replacement parts?
Thanks for reaching out to us. I'm afraid it isn't. The labels don't tell us anything about the hardware your window uses. In order to help, I will need to see photos of the part you're looking to replace. There's a chance we still may need more information after that though. Just something to keep in mind!
Yep, this is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for getting that for me, Julio! I recommend our 15-259 pivot shoe. This is designed to be used with the S159 coil springs. We even have a helpful video that will guide you through the steps of the replacement process.
Let me know if you have any questions!
I'm afraid our department doesn't process orders. However, you can place an order right on our website at your convenience!
Note that to determine the proper spring weights, you will need to divide the sash weight by the total number of springs in the window.
I'm happy to help, Julio!
There's usually a stamped number or code on the band of the spring that indicates the weight the spring is calibrated for. If there aren't any, get back to us with the precise weight of the sash and I can calculate what you need from there.
The slide mechanisms sound like they might be tilt latches but I would need to see photos of them to confirm. As for the upper windows not working, can you go into more detail as to how they don't work properly?
No need to apologize, this is what I'm here for!
If it is the tilt latches you're looking for, I recommend you start by taking a look at the 26-243 and 26-244. Review our dimensions and see if they line up with yours.
With a 14-pound window sash, you can use two S159-3 3.5-pound springs on each side of the window. This will total 14 pounds of overall support. You will also need the 15-256 double support and the 26-083 pivot bar.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
No, it appears that you ordered the correct parts. I know the pivot shoe looks different than your old one but it can work to replace it. I'm afraid we don't have a video that shows how to install these double coil springs.
To attach the coils, you will have to insert one of the "T" shaped coil spring tongues into the side of the 15-259; this is shown at the 1:09 mark in the video below. Then you will take the second coil spring and insert the tongue into the rectangular slot on the spring band. After that, you will insert the pivot shoe and springs in the track, spring first, then you can insert the coil support and fasten it. I highly recommend watching the video below if you haven't already. It's very helpful!
No problem! I'll be here if you need anything else.
