Window spring detached

A quick learner from Richmond VA says:
Hi, I have two double hung windows that aren't attached to their springs anymore. It looks like the plastic pieces that connect the spring to the bottom of the window has broken. Can these pieces be replaced? Is there a way to remove them from the window track?

Thanks
Bryant

Hi Bryant, thank you for posting,

Please start by reviewing the style and dimensions of the 15-104 Caradco friction. Compare to your original to confirm a good fit! Unfortunately we cannot assist with replacements for this type of balance spring.

To remove and install a new friction shoe, you will need to remove the sashes and the jamb liners, then slide the friction shoes out. Let us know if you have any additional questions!
