help with window operator

A home owner from Minnesota says:
Hi,

I'm trying to find replacement window operators for my front room windows.

this is a 1950s vintage house with probably same windows installed. I have attached pictures.

I am not picky about what color or style, as long as it's something that works.

thanks
Dave

Emily from SWISCO responded:

Hey, Dave.

Thanks for reaching out to us. This is a very, very old awning window operator. I don't know for a fact but I believe that the original manufacturer was Andersen.

The bad news is that this hasn't been made in decades, which I'm sure you've already guessed. There also isn't a modern operator that is close enough to be a guaranteed replacement. The best options we have for you would be something like our 39-389 or 39-390, but if you're going to get these to work then it would probably require adaptation of the sill to accept the new style base, including but not limited to cutting the sill trim, drilling new holes, stuff like that.

Even assuming you did all that perfectly, there's still no guarantee these parts will work. The original is just too old.

I am sorry that we cannot offer you a more confident recommendation.
