latch not deep enough

A home owner from Stuart, FL says:
Greetings,

I have a 16 inside pull standard inslide lock on my sliding glass door. The hook that goes into the latch is not deep enough into the door to latch. As yom may see from the photo, the hook (tab, latch) does not extend into the hole barely at all. Is there a part I need to buy that extends this hook deeper?

I think I replaced this part several years ago and may have used the wrong part.

Hello,

Thanks for reaching out! You may be able to use either the 82-203 "K" Tooth or the 82-209 "P" Tooth. Take a look over the dimensions to determine if either of these might reach the keeper to secure the door. I am not confident given the space in the door but they are worth considering as a replacement.

You may be able to find longer teeth at a local hardware store but I cannot make any guarantees.

See what you think!
