A quick learner from welches, or says:
Looks like the rope has frayed and will need to be replaced. The window latch itself says "Mercer" and the only other markings say "18-5 FES CMC 75" channel is 20"

Hello there. I'm sure we can help, but I need to confirm a few details before proceeding. First, can you double-check the length? Be sure to measure only the metal channel--do not include the end fittings or attachments in this measurement. I believe it should be 19".

Second, do the nylon fittings or attachments at either end have 'side tabs', or what we call wings? It's admittedly a bit hard to tell from your photos. See the diagrams below for a reference about what I mean. If they do indeed have these wings, then you need either the S380-19 or S385-19. The only difference between these two channel balances is the depth of the bottom nylon shoe, or the 'heel-to-toe' measurement. Compare the second diagram below with your old hardware to see which balance Series matches best. In either case, for a stamp option choose 1850. Let me know if you have further questions or concerns.
