weighing my window sash without removing it

I have removed my cylinders to order replacements but cannot figure out how to weight the sash if not removed from the track. Any advice

Hello,

The best way to weigh the window sash would be to remove it from the window frame and place it on a bathroom scale. If that is not possible, you can release the balances on both sides so that the sash is dead weight, place the scale on the window sill and carefully lower the sash onto it. Keep in mind that this method may not be as accurate so removing the sash entirely is recommended. Thanks for posting and let us know if you have any other questions.
