window balancers for single hung aluminum windows circa 1990

A home owner from florida says:

second owner of a 33 year old house. windows appear to be in good shape except balancers appear missing or perhaps broken? windows don't slide well, can't close properly. removed one window balancer and it has code 33C Z. Can you tell me if it is possible to replace these without taking a window balancer out of e every different sized window, is it possible to figure out what other lengths I might need?

Thank you,

Pam

Thanks for reaching out to us. Based on what I see here, T, you have either our S380-34 or S385-34, depending on the depth of the bottom shoe. That's the only difference between them. I recommend measuring your shoe and referring to our dimensions to confirm the best match.

As for the other windows, if they're all different sizes then you will have to check each one. That is the easy way, unfortunately.
