window coil balance with shoe

A handy person from says:
I have an 8500 series window that broke the coil and shoe, which shoe should I order?
this is the bottom left side, the window when removed weights 18 lbs, on the shoe it has a 9, so I should get a 9 lb coil, right? the shoe is broken so which shoe replaces the one I have?

Thanks for posting. This is likely a 15-087 Pivot Shoe, but make sure the width and thickness listed below match. If so, this shoe uses Series 180 Coil Balances. Yes, if the window sash weighs exactly 18 pounds, use the S180-9 9 pound springs, one for each side of the sash. Let me know if you have other questions.

A handy person from Massachusetts says:
I see I have to order 2 separate pieces, how do you put the coil inside or does it come already put together?

These components unfortunately do not come assembled, but the good news is that it's very easy. The 15-087 carrier simply snaps apart into two pieces. You then put the spring inside and snap it back together.
