I have a window with spring loaded self-locking sash handles that lock into place when the window is closed. When closing the window, the window goes behind an extruded piece of aluminum with a protrusion a the top of it that forces back the spring handles and when the window is closed all the way the spring handles lock into place on this piece of metal. See attached pictures.
I want to make some modifications to the window to add a cat door. To do this I need another piece of the extruded aluminum that the window locks into. I don't know what this piece is called, or where to get it. I've taken pictures to a few local window shops and nobody can tell me what it is or where to get it.
If I knew what the part is called, then I might be able to find it. Can you tell me what this part is called and point me in the right direction to where I could find it.
