identifying coil balance

This is a picture of the coil spring removed from the window. We took it in to a dealer in NYC who said that it's obsolete. They wanted an extreme amount of money to replace it.

Just wanted to add that the spring got slightly bent when taking it out of the window. The window frame had a cut out but it was about 1/2 the size of the spring so we had alot of trouble getting it out.

This may be an older version, but it's certainly not obsolete. I believe this is a Certainteed window that uses a 15-155 pivot shoe. For the springs, they should be 3/4" wide; if so, look at our Series 170 and Series 171 coils. Match up the number printed on the old coils to confirm the best option.
