mortise lock

A quick learner from 15090 says:
The photo is all I have left of the locking mechanism. When the handyman was taking it out so I could try to find a replacement, it fell down into the door. I am under a time constraint as fixing this lock is on my inspection report to-do list. I have searched the other comments but still am not sure what to order. I ordered 82-218 with Fedex shipping but I am afraid that's not the right one. I'd really appreciate any help!! Thanks so much!

That face plate looks like it once went on something like our 82-227; if that's what you had, then the 82-218 should be perfectly compatible. I can't think of anything else it could be, anyway.

If it doesn't work, though, let me know and we can try to get to the bottom of things.
