I need a replacement spindle for a Wright Storm Door that fits a 1 3/4" door. Will 40-038 work? This is the spindle that is too short. It is 1 1/4" long for a door 1 1/8" thick. I need a replacement spindle that can be cut to a 1 3/4" door.

This inside door latch is white in color, has a 1-3/4" spacing between screws has a locking mechanism and takes a flat bar spindle to the outside key cylinder. On the Underside of the outdoor pull latch is stamped Ideal DX-1 and D-423-320. Inside the latch is a coil spring that is broken. Is that the only spring that is to be in the latch? The latch is well made and I would like to repair If possible.
