spiral balancer

A quick learner from Chicago says:
I have a spiral balancer that is larger than 3/8 but just shy of 1/2" I am assuming i would need to go with 3/8" however the tip is red and that is not one of your options if i select a 3/8" tube. also, my length is 34.25". do i go with 34" or 35"

Thanks,
Sam

Tom from SWISCO responded:
Thanks for posting. First, are you making sure to measure the diameter of the outside tube? You don't want to measure the diameter of the spring. As for length, you should be okay using a 34" balance. Also, is this window tilt or non tilt? Finally, what is the weight of your sash?
A quick learner says:
I do have a white covering on the tube, so are you saying I need to measure including the covering? So, if that is the case, I would be closer to 9/16".
My window is a tilt window. The weight is about 22 lbs.

Great, in that case I would recommend our S600-34 with a red tip color option.
