I'm not sure what you have, unfortunately. We have dozens of different balances with that stamp. It's not a product code or anything, it just indicates the strength of the spring.

In order to figure out what Series this is, I need you to remove an undamaged version of this balance from the window and show me clear pictures of the top and bottom nylon fittings. I will also need to know the dimensions of these fittings.

the balance is 17" long without fittings.

Perfect, thank you! These pictures are exactly what we needed.

Based on what I see here, you have either our S380-17 or S385-17, depending on the depth of the bottom shoe. That's the only difference between them. I recommend measuring your shoe and referring to our dimensions to confirm the best match.

The stamp options indicate the calibration of the spring; in other words, they determine what kind of load your balances can support. It's a very important detail.

Thankfully, in 99% of cases you can just use your old stamp to determine what you need. As your original stamp is 16-2, then you can use our 1620. Two balances with this stamp can carry 8 through 12 pounds.
