wood tension spring(s)

do i need to use two sash tension springs (20-001) one on each side of window? or will one be sufficient ?

Usually one 20-001 spring is enough but sometimes two is needed, and on a very rare occasion more than two springs are needed.

I am not positive without actually seeing your application but the 20-001 spring should work on a metal track.
