Replacing a flush mount handle with a locking handle

A quick learner from Long Beach, CA says:
Hi. My current 1" thick door has flush mount handles. I assume the door will have holes where the handle indentations are. Is my only option to use this 82-261 model with the plates? I assume the handle's 2 screw holes 3 15/16 apart to connect the inner and outer handles and the mounting plate 4 holes will fix the whole assembly to the door?

Thank you

Hello there!

Thank you for reaching out to us. I'm afraid we don't sell a good replacement for the hardware shown here. The issue is the recessed handle. This appears to fit into a precisely sized cavity in the door frame. That basically leaves a huge hole in the door that can't be covered by any hardware we carry. You're welcome to give the 82-261 a shot but we don't think it'll work for you. I am very sorry for the inconvenience.

Thank you. I think the cavity hole is 1" wide so your plate might work. Do you have a pdf of installation instructions for this handle?
