Broken window block and tackle with coil spring. pat. 5.737.877

Quick Learner from Caro, MI
I have one picture of the rod pushed through spring and broken plastic, a picture of one that has not broken yet still in the window, a picture of the window upside down with just the post, and a couple pictures of a broken spring attached to the post on bottom of window. Do you have replacement springs with block and tackle for my windows? My house was new in July 2004 and nothing has ever been done to these windows. I hope you can help me, please let me know. Thank You. I think these windows are called "Creation Windows ".

Thanks for posting. These old block & tackle rod balances aren't made anymore, but they can be replaced by one of our tilt window Channel Balances. To know which though, I need to see the attachment at the bottom of the balance. It's missing in these photos. Can you remove the undamaged balance so we can view the bottom attachment? Many thanks.

These are some views of the bottom of the window attachment and the peg on the bottom of the window that fits into it that stretches the spring out. Also one of the still and only working spring I have. Window is all the way open when picture was taken. Hope this helps, if not let me know and I will take send more pictures.

Ah, perfect. Like Bob said, these aren't made anymore, but your particular style can be replaced by our Series 795. The process is a bit involved, though, so we highly recommend watching the tutorial video below. This should tell you everything you need.

How can I determine the length of the series 795 channel balance that I will need to order because the original balance that I have now is just a spring with a rod going through the middle of it. There is no case around the spring.

As the video that Tom posted states, you simply want to measure the length from the bottom of the T-Lock attachment, all the way to the end of the plastic tip where the clip retracts. Crossbow balances come at inch-and-a-half intervals, whereas the Series 795 come at an even inch. You will round down to account for the difference. For example a 22.5" crossbow balance rounds down to 22" Series 795 Channel Balance. See the video for more details.
