See our S380-24 and S385-24 Channel Balances. The only difference between these two balances is the depth of the bottom nylon shoe, or the 'heel-to-toe' measurement, so compare both with your old hardware to see what matches best. See the illustration below for reference.

Now, you'll have to choose a stamp option that determines the strength of the balance. Your old stamp 23-9 is from a rating system no longer used. We suggest weighing the window sash. You can then match that exact weight with one of the weight ranges listed alongside each stamp option on the balance shop page.

The stamping on my balancer reads 23 9 30# IK CALDWELL. Looking to replace the pair of balancer on a single hung vinyl window. The weight of the sach is 26.2 lbs. The S385-24 appears to be the correct match. Would like to confirm before ordering.

Great! As long as you have a 1/2" wide channel balance with a 19-005 top and 15-004 bottom then our Series 385 should work well. I can't confirm anything, however, since I can't see your original assembly. I have nothing at this time to base a confirmation on. If you have any doubts, you can always upload photos for us to look over.

For a sash weight of 26.2 pounds, our 2350 stamp option would be what I recommend. This carries 23 through 27 pounds.
