Capital Series Track Installation

A handy person from Jersey City, NK says:
I have windows that I believe are capital series 400 or 700 from the parts that are installed. I need to replace the trash and am trying to size it. On either end of the window is a slot that I assume is for drainage. Should the track go end to end and cover this slot or should the track be sized such that the track stops short of the track? The latter seems to allow airflow in through the holes.

Thanks for writing in. This track is designed to cover the slot, but as long as you allow for some play the drainage should work all the same. You simply bend the track and snap it into place. Let me know if you have any other questions.
