Channel Window Balance Replace Needed

Quick Learner from Pasadena, CA
I need to find the correct replacement part of my window balance. The interior cord broke, and the plastic end also broke.

The length of the balance (measuring only the metal part) is 24 inches. The width is 5/8 in.

With this combination of attachments, you could have either an S380-24 or S385-24 channel balance. You’ll need to measure as shown below. The Series 380 has a 1" bottom attachment, and the Series 385 has a 1-3/32" attachment. You'll also need 2340 spring strength options for your replacement balances.

Thank you and let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Thank you so much Casey for the information. There is one more thing I need. In the window, in channel, there is a plastic piece that catches the channel balance. There is the plastic piece on both sides of the window. One of those pieces is broken and needs to be replaced. I have attached two pictures: one picture of the broken plastic piece, and a second pictures of the plastic piece that is on the other side. Please let me know if you need additional information.

Thank you,
Jose

Hello! Casey isn't here today but I'll do my best to assist you from here.

What you have here is called a top sash guide. I actually don't think your exact model is made anymore, but just by eyeballing the design I think you can use our 18-009 as a replacement. The only catch is that ours has a "trim" on the top end that sticks out from the base a little. In order to install this in your window, you'll have to shave that down a little so that it will fit in the space available. Just note that products altered in this way cannot be returned for a refund.

Before you buy anything, I recommend reviewing our dimensions below just to be sure everything matches (aside from that top trim, of course).
