Hardware that attaches to frame of slidding door for locking purposes
Hello! This keeper looks like a dead ringer for our 89-036 at first glance. I recommend that you review its measurements just to be safe. For now I think it's well worth considering.

The original part is 5/8" deep and the one I purchased is 3/8" deep so the lock does not reach the striker.

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble. I talked to the manufacturer about this and I'm afraid that a thicker version isn't available. Truth be told, I've never seen such a thing, but the proof is in your photo. It's very odd.
There are a few ways around it. Firstly, you can adjust the 89-036 keeper to push it forward a bit to compensate. You can do this by loosening the two screws at the top and bottom of the metal part, then turning the center screw to push it forward.
If that still doesn't give you enough, you can always pack out the installation screws with washers. If all else fails, that should do it.
