mine came with no directions and as simple as it seems I was not successful...could use some directions.

In my experience, this is not that difficult to install. The only trick is in the cutting of the spindle. You normally only want one "notch" past the inside of the door. You most likely will need to cut and file the spindle to make it fit or reuse the spindle you all ready have. Try that and see if it works.
