New balance needed.

A quick learner from 97304 says:
I have a non tilt EPI window. I need a spring coil pulley balance. It has 3150 engraved on balance. Casing measures 1/2 inch. Length is 32 in. Not including the plastic ends. Which balance do I order.

Thanks for writing in!

I recommend either our S380-32 or S385-32 channel balance with a 3150 stamp. To confirm which balance is the correct replacement, you'll need to confirm the depth of your bottom shoe. You may use the diagram below for reference.

I ordered 2 new channel balances that I received from you. S385-32. Option 3150. We put them in according to the instructions. It was so tight. It tore the vinyl. After inspecting the channel, you see a jagged edge sticking out of one that made it an impossible fit. We had to cut them out. Sent picture of defect and torn vinyl. Now have damaged window and no balances. Not happy with the material you sent.

The 19-005 top fitting being slightly above the metal channel would not cause this kind of damage. The top corner of your vinyl window sash being cracked, shows me your top sash guide is either broken or missing. The top of the balance should never press against the sash frame.

The 3150 stamp is a strong spring for a sash weighing between 28-32 lbs.

May I see your top sash guide?
