Replacement parts

Hello. We just moved into an apartment on the 28th floor of a high rise that has original Traco tilt windows, they take quite a beating. I want to replace the balances and hardware to get ready for winter.

I've measured the balances, they are 5/8", 29" red tip.

Looks like the pivot shoes are 15-118, can you help confirm via the picture? What is the best way to replace these?

Also, can you confirm that the proper sash release lever replacement part would be 26-003?

Thank you.

Hello! I agree, the 26-003 finger lever looks like it could work. If you have an original handy to use as comparison, that would be the best way to be sure. The internal latch looks like our 26-069, which uses a 26-016 spring and 26-017 spring retainer. See our slide assembly diagram below for reference. In regards to 15-118 pivot shoe, just make sure the thickness is 9/16".

Thanks Paul, very helpful. My challenge now is how best to remove the old pivot shoes. You can see in my earlier pic with the old shoe that there is a black plastic ridge that runs vertical attached to the aluminum frame. This ridge piece is pretty solid on the aluminum, but is seems like it could be pried away from the aluminum at the bottom enough to get the pivots swapped out. Do you think pulling it back on the bottom a few inches is the way to go or should I leave it in place and consider making cuts?? I don't want to pull it out without being sure I'd be able to get it snapped back in. Thanks.

If you have an aluminum frame, your best bet may be to make a small cutout. See our video below for instructions.
