The upper sash to one of my Andersen Silverline double hung window was broken and I need to ensure that I get the correct replacement parts. Both pivot bars in the window snapped off inside both of the balance shoes and one of the channel balances broke where the balance gets screwed into the top of the casing. So I know that I need 2 pivot bars, 2 channel balances, and 2 balance shoes.
Images:
1. I think this is is what the pivot bars looked like that were in the upper sash
2. This is the pivot bar that I found in the lower sash. Can I replace the upper sash pivot bars with these? Or do they need to be different for some reason?
3. Measurement of the screw holes in the upper sash for the pivot bars.
4. Measurement of the channel balance that needs replacement.
Printed on it is "20 3 JU CMC 1" I'm assuming this is information about the weight range? According to your charts I think this means that a pair of these can hold a 12-15lbs window sash?
5. Best image I could get of the balance shoe. We couldn't pry the jamb open AT ALL so our plan is to make a cutout to get these shoes out when we get the replacement parts. We can't just leave these in and reuse them because both of the broken pivot bars are broken off inside of them and we can't get that metal out.
Please help me choose the right replacement parts! I get nervous buying replacement parts for things when they don't look exactly like the original. I've never fixed a window before.
Thanks in advance!
