Is it difficult to cut the shower rail & sweep?

Shower rail & sweep need replacement but rail is only 25" long. Would it be difficult to cut 30" rail to fit and what tools are used?

Can a shower rail be shortened to fit? What tools are needed?

You can shorten a drip rail like our 10-325, yes. In fact this is fairly standard when using this to repair any shower door, as the rail rarely matches up precisely with the door in my experience.

The good news is that the process isn't difficult at all. You will need to use a hacksaw to cut the metal portion, like our 75-023A, and a knife or scissors to cut the vinyl, like our 75-082. You will also need to drill new holes in the rail to match those already in the door.

Please note that any product altered in this way cannot be returned for a refund. Make sure to triple check the old sweep to ensure that the 10-325 is the correct design to replace it. You can see more information  in our return policy here.
