Simonton

Handy Person from USA
The Simonton Profinish in window in our Tallahassee FL home mainly face east and west, so they get a lot of sun. But, all the other windows have similar issues.

Several of seats and lift springs (not sure if that is what the parts are really called) and a couple pins are broken or in rough shape. The issues are mainly on the wider windows, 33.25" W (33.5" or 36 by name ??)x 29"H, 45.25"W x 29 H.

I need help identifying the parts and understanding if/how I can replace the parts now vs buying whole new windows, which is not likely to be in the cards for several years.

Thanks for writing in! Your coil balance pivot shoe looks a lot like our 15-199. Although, you'll need to remove your shoe from the windows to compare the dimensions to your existing shoe to confirm.

Your balance cover looks like it could be the 15-205 3/8" Egress Coil Triple Support. This is compatible with the 3/8" wide Series 165 Coil Balances. You'll want to double check the width of your balance springs to confirm that this is the correct series.

To determine which series you have, you'll need to confirm the width of your coils. Then you'll need to look for any stamps/markings that will indicate the spring strength needed for your window. If there are no stamps/markings, you'll need to obtain the exact weight of the sash and divide it by the total number of coils in the window. That number will be the spring strength you'll need.

The pivot bar you have appears to be the 26-378 3" Pivot Bar. Carefully compare the dimensions below to determine if this is the right fit.

Take a look at the video below to use as a reference for removing and installing this coil balance assembly.
