Spring Weight Replacement Inquiry

Handy Person from Fairmont, WV
Hello!

I'm reaching out in hopes of determining the correct spring weight for a balance replacement. I'm working on a 28"x 44" Simonton window installed in 2011. I removed the spring and found no information regarding the weight or length - please see attached photos.

Any information you could provide back I would appreciate!

Thank you,
James

Hey, James!

I'm familiar with what you show here. We don't sell an exact match but luckily our 15-259 pivot shoe and Series 159 coil springs can work as a replacement. See the video below for details on the process.

If you can get back to me with the weight of the window sash, I will be able to calculate what you need from there.

Emily,

Thanks for the quick response!

I removed the window sash and weighted it at 14 lbs. Also, please see the picture provided from the side of the sash. I'm not sure if this will help but thought I would include it.

Thanks again for the help,
James

You have two options with a 14-pound sash. You can use (1) S159-6 6.5-pound spring on each side of the window which will total 13 pounds of overall support or (1) S159-7 7.5-pound spring on each side of the window which will total 15 pounds of overall support. Either option should work for you so long as the coil spring weights are within a pound of your sash's actual weight. For a compatible single coil support, see the 15-255.
