Weather stripping

Quick Learner
I am trying to find a substitute for these two types of weather stripping for our Milgard Tuscany style windows purchased in 2009. Milgard no longer makes this weather stripping. Thank you.

Hello,

Take a look at the weatherstripping options listed we've related on this page. These slide into a 3/16" wide groove in the window. Review the specifications of each option to see if you could use one of these on your window. Thanks for posting.

Do you have a tool that can be used to remove the old weather stripping from the 3/16" groove? The old weather stripping is brittle and does not slide out easily. Thank you.

There is no exact science to removing old weather stripping, unfortunately. In the past, you could take window sashes apart to replace the weather stripping, but most windows today have welded corners so they can't be taken apart.

You should be able to carefully cut out the original weatherstripping with a utility knife blade, using the back of the blade to force it in. You could also consider the 58-021 wool pile with the "fin seal". Take a look at the weather stripping the related videos to assist you.

At long last, I am checking in to say that we have successfully replaced our weatherstripping with the 58-135 and 58-156. We got a nice tight seal. Perfect! Thank you so much. God bless you.
