handle broke off of casement window

Question

the handle (part#39-205)for (part #39-330) broke off of arm. With half of stem in arm and half in handle. Window is closed. And I cannot open window to get at parts. Can you help me? A casement window. Thankyou, Jim

It's hard to say what you need. I've never seen that kind of damage for an operator in the style of the 39-330. Are you sure that's what you have? It sounds like you may have a hex-type handle like the 39-226, instead.

As for opening the window to remove the hardware, first see if you can drill into the broken stem and install a screw into it. With the screw installed into the broken stem, try to pull it out with a set of pliers.
