Tilt Balances/Removal and Installation

A home owner from New York City says:
How do you remove and install a S751 balance? Marked on my balance it says UNIQUE 30 H D. I see the installation diagram for the other type of balances but this one is not the same is there a diagram for this type.

Dave Sr. from SWISCO responded:
I'm assuming that you have the balances in the vinyl side tracks. To remove the balances, you must first tilt down the sashes and remove them from the window. After sashes are removed, the balance shoes should be locked into place in the vinyl track. Next take a slotted screw-driver, place it into the balance shoe, disengage the knife lock, and raise the shoe all the way up to the bottom of the balance. With all the balances in the correct position, remove the vinyl track from the window. With the track removed from the window you then should be able to remove the balances by sliding them out from the top of the track. I know it's a little tricky you might want a professional to do it who has knowledge of window repairs. Always remember safety first. Wear protective gear.
