I measured and found I need the 28" s900. I weighed my sash at 16lb, do I need the red or green tip?

It is best to replace to the original color. If you cannot determine the original color, it looks like either the red or green would work:

Red tip has a sash support range of 10 through 22 lbs.
Green tip has a sash support range of 14 through 26 lbs.
