???? Measuring Window Balance

I took my window balance out and measured just the metal part of the balance and it measures 27 1/2 inches but the chart does not show in half inches. Do i stay at 27 inches or go to 28 inches? Also the part # stamped on the balance is "27 4 B.S.I. PA". Does this part # tell you anything?

Instead of ordering the custom made window balance would the S380 model work for my window or does it have to be the custom made?

I'm afraid not. Other customers have tried the Series 380 as a replacement and it has never worked out.
