Sliding Door Parts

A home owner from USA says:
Hello!

I hope all is well. I am reaching out with a question about parts for a sliding door. I have a sliding door that does not lock anymore and want to make sure that I am ordering the right parts for the door. I attached an image of the inside of the lock. It is part number 7246B-4, but after researching sections of your website it seems that this part is not made anymore. I believe I should order https://www.swisco.com/Andersen-Frenchwood-Reachout-Lock/pd/Patio-Glass-Door-Replacement-Internal-Locks/82-037 as a substitute part.

I am wondering if I would need to replace the thumb latch as well. Any help would be appreciated.Thank you for your patience while I received more information about the existing door latch. Is it possible to receive part identification help via email?
Please find attach a word document that has several images in it that shows different parts of the setup. Let me know if this helps or if any more information would be helpful.

Thank you.
Madhat

Hello! I agree, I think the 82-037 Andersen brand mortise is a newer version of your older part. As long as you replace your old keeper with the one that comes with the 82-037 set then you should be fine. It should also be compatible with your old thumb lever.

Let me know if you had any other questions and I will do my best to help!

Hi Tom,
Thank you for the response. I uploaded two more pictures. This part is located in the door key lock and mortise. Do you recommend that this part be replaced as well? My current situation is that whenever I try to lock the door using the door latch, it does not latch on. I am able to slide the door open even when I lock the door. If you need any more pictures or information, please let me know.

I'm not sure what this part is. It looks like it's part of the mortise itself. That is to say, this looks like the part that takes the thumb lever tail on one side and the key lock tail on the other side. If this is what I think it is, then it's not sold separately. It comes built into the mortise and is not meant to be removed. I'm actually shocked you got yours out.
