double casement window unknown manuf.

Home Owner from columbia pa

we have a double casement window that opens and will not close properly or swing open as some parts are broken. we got the window as a gift and we do not know who made it as there are no markings on it like an Anderson or some other window would have. the glass and screens are in great shape and I hate to buy a new window if I don't have to. can you use these parts to identify the manufacturer? these are the ones that we need to replace or else the price to replace the window will be in the $600 dollar range.

thanks for any help that you can provide.

Thanks for posting. I'm afraid I have some bad news. These are Roto casement window operator parts. We actually used to carry everything you needed, but not too long ago Roto completely discontinued this line and our stock ran out not long after. Since this is relatively recent, there are no known substitutes on the market that we know of.

That said, we have a couple of ideas. There are maybe one or two operators in our catalog that may work as substitutes, but we cannot be sure if they will work. None of us have any hands-on experience trying them out and we haven't heard back from any customers who've given it a shot.

That said, look at our 39-220 and 39-221 operators, along with the 39-114L handle, 39-508 bracket, and 39-105 clip. The plan is to screw the 39-220 and 39-221 to the sill, attach the 39-508 bracket under the sash, and then connect the bracket to the operator arms using the 39-105 hook. That would just snap on the end of the operator arms and help secure the bracket in place.

Look these parts over and let me know what you think. Some measure of adaptation may be necessary, and even then we cannot guarantee this will work. Let us know what you think, or if you have any questions.
