"right-hand" vs "left hand" versions?

A home owner from Oakland, CA, USA says:
I need this replacement part, but my existing broken mechanism has the locking handle on the left side of the body, not the right. Does it matter? I can't find any other versions of this product, so maybe it can just be flipped over or go in as-is and the lever will now be closer to the window than the frame?

Hi there!

Our 39-139 can work for either the left or right hand side interchangeably. I hope this helps!
