Home Owner from Connecticut

have a hevy door and have purchased several hndles. They keep cracking. Do you have a heaver handle available? It's the inside frame that breaks.

Thanks

Hi James! If the handles keep cracking then the culprit is almost certainly the condition of the rollers on the bottom of the door. When patio door rollers aren't working properly, either from damage or clogs, then it requires extra force to open the door. That extra force adds up over time and ends up cracking the handle.

With that being said, replacing the handle with a heavier version won't really fix the issue, it will only be a temporary solution. Also, they don't really make "heavier" handles. Before you do anything else, I would suggest addressing the real problem. You'll need to thoroughly examine your track and rollers--clean them, lubricate them, check for any damage to the track. If either of them are damaged, you'll need to replace them. Otherwise, you'll continue to be confronted with the same issue.

Patio doors aren't meant to require a lot of force to open. They should operate with a gentle touch. Let me know if you have any questions.
