Hi there!

Take a look at the S380-24 or S385-24 channel balances. The best match will depend on the depth of the bottom shoe, as shown below.

Can you weigh the window sash on a scale and tell us the precise weight? The 23 9 stamp is from an older rating system that we don't use, so we need the weight to determine the proper stamp.

Hi -
The width of the bottom shoe piece is 1 inch. So that means its the S380?
Do you mean weigh the actual window? I don't have a scale unfortunatley so am unable to.

Ok - I see why I need it when I went to order the cahnnel balance : )
Does it matter if I order one over weight?

I contacted Milgard they said the 23 9 bit is the relevant part for weight and that my channel balancer supports up to 32llbs. So would I be ok to order the 2365  Series 380 24 inch balancer?

Yes, you'd want the S380-24 since the bottom shoe is 1" deep. However, we can't be certain which of the stamp options is best for your window without knowing the sash weight. If the window weights exactly 32 pounds, you could select the 2365 stamp option.

However, if the window doesn't fall within the 30 to 34-pound weight range, the window will be difficult to close.

Ok - thanks. I'll see if I get can get a scale and weigh the window.
