14-4 FD5 CMC 45 Channel Balance

Question

Hello,

I have a window channel balance with a broken string. The partner balance string is also damaged and requires replacement.

The number on the balance is 14-4 FD5 CMC 45. The metal portion is 15" long x 5/8" wide x 5/8" deep.

Hey Norman, thanks for the thorough information. This looks like either an S380-15 or S385-15. The only difference between these two balances is the depth of the bottom nylon shoe, or the distance from 'heel' to 'toe'. See the diagram below for reference. Compare both with your old hardware to see what matches best. In either case for a stamp option choose 1440. Let me know if you have further questions.
