A quick learner from San Francisco, CA says:
Would please help to identify part number for attached balance? Also which stamp option should I choose? How can I know which option will work for me? Is it bigger number the better?

Also should I replace both including the one still okay to work?

Thank you,
Maggie

Hi, Maggie.

Thank you for your patience during our busy season. With this combination of attachments, you could have either an S380-15 or S385-15 channel balance. You’ll need to measure as shown below. The Series 380 has a 1" bottom attachment, and the Series 385 has a 1-3/32" attachment. If the stamp on your metal channel is "14 5", then you'll need a 1450 stamp option. You should always stick with the stamp option on the original balance. If you have too strong of an option then the window will be difficult to close or may even raise on its own.

We also recommend replacing your balances in pairs. We highly advise against mixing and matching old and new balances. If you do this, the new mechanism will have to carry a greater load to compensate for its older, weaker counterpart, causing it to wear out faster.

If you have any further questions just let us know!
