Is a screw needed to retain the balance control rod shaft in the pivot shoe?
There is a small screw (upper center of the pivot shoe)in the pivot shoes I have, at least most of them. This is old plastic so alot of these screw holes have cracked. If a screw is recommended, are they shipped with the 15-015 pivot shoe since the same screw hole exists in this model?
Thanks.
Dean
Do you need a screw for the 15-015?

For the 15-015 shoe, the screw is commonly used by installers to prevent the spiral from coming out of the shoe tangs during installation. That said, it's mostly an added precaution and is not strictly necessary for the window to function.
If you want to continue using it, then we suggest using a #6 x 3/8" Truss-head screw.
