15-192 pivot shoe trouble with cam

Hi there.

I have the same system and I purchased the 15-192 : CertainTeed Pivot Shoe to replace.

Unfortunately the female cylinder cutout inside is not large enough to fit the male window piece.

Wondering if there is another piece that would be better or if there is a larger cylinder cutout.

Thanks for posting. We've come across this issue before: your old shoe is likely an old Simonton version that is no longer made. If the cams from your older shoes are undamaged, swapping them out with the cams in the newer shoes should do the trick.

Thank you for your help. I was able to save a few cams from the old system but others were gone so I actually milled out the grooves in the cams in a drill-press and made them larger, which worked. Not something that everyone would be able to do at home but it did work, for anyone else encountering this issue and willing to try.

Cool! Glad you were able to come up with a handy solution. Certainly worth putting out there, as this definitely can become a pesky issue for anyone who doesn't have the old cams but needs the 15-192 pivot shoe body. Thanks again for reaching out to us.
