1540 stamp handle

Question

I need to replace a broken exterior door handle on a sliding glass door (no exterior locking key). Inside the broken handle is stamped 1540. In your catologe, it appears that part number 82-044 matches my broken part. Is part number 82-044 an acceptable replace?

I'm not sure. I believe that code you gave is just a mold cavity number, not a serial number. The best way to determine if our 82-044 is to compare the specs we show to your own hardware, specifically the distance between installation hole centers. On our 82-044, that measurement is 3-15/16".
