17 3 FD Caldwell replacement channel balance

Quick Learner from Los Angeles
I've gotten balances from you-all in the past. I know there are some technicalities to the hardware details.

Hi there!

Thank you for reaching out to us. We're happy to help with this, but we would also like to see an image of the inside of the balance’s metal channel, where the innerspring connects to the pulley mechanism; this connection is located in the middle of the channel. Can you also measure the bottom shoe as shown below and write out the depth?

Thank you! Based on these photos and since the shoe is over 1" deep, you may have the S385-18 with the 1730 stamp option. This comes attached with a 1-3/32" deep shoe. It couldn't hurt to double-check, just to be safe.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Yes—on closer inspection, the shoe could be 1 and 3/32nds.

Great! Then you should be good to go with the S385-18 balances with 1730 stamp options.
