17 inch Channel Balance for window
Thanks for posting. Looks like you have either a Series 380 or Series 385 Channel Balance. The only difference between these two Series is the 'depth' of the bottom nylon shoe. With the Series 380 the depth of this nylon shoe is 1", whereas with the Series 385 it is 1-3/32". Compare with your own and see what is best.
Once you know which balance to select, you must choose a stamp option. This is where it gets a little weird. You say your balance is 17". But your stamp option of 26 4 would indicate your balance is 27" long. It is possible that the balance was cut down by whoever installed them. In this case, the best thing to do is to weigh your window sash. You can then see if that precise weight matches one of the weight ranges listed for each stamp option on a balance's product page. Let us know if you have any questions.
You are correct about the 27 inches. My bad. And I wasn't sure which side was the footing so attaching both photo measurements.I read online and it referred to depth. So I added this new photo which appears to be 1" if I'm measuring properly.
If your bottom balance shoe measures 1" like you mentioned, then our S380-27 channel balance would be the one you want to go with for a replacement. You would choose the 2640 to accommodate for your "26 4" stamp. Look it over to confirm this is correct part.
