18-166 did not repair window

Question

Bought the Kinco 5/8" Top Sash Guide Item #18-166.

They worked for a while but the window does not hold in position. Maybe they are too thin with a 1/2" deep cap?

Please advise a better replacement.

I'm afraid I don't know what top sash guide you need. In order to help, I need to see the original. Seeing it side-by-side with the 18-166 would be very helpful. I'll also need you to tell me exactly how yours differs from ours in terms of size.
